Star Riverside Condos by Sydney, Australia-based Constellation Property Group has set its sights on the U.S. market. In 2004, they opened up their first U.S. office in San Diego. Primarily focused on four stateside cities: San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Austin; the company has several projects in various stages of development. Constellation's first Austin project is entitled "STAR Riverside." This $70+ million lakeside project will be comprised of four buildings and a manicured courtyard, just east of IH-35. The proposed Star Riverside Condos plan includes 240 condominiums (plus 4 studio units) to be spread out among two 6-story buildings fronting Town Lake, a 9-story building at E. Riverside Drive and Manlove Street, and an 11-story tower at the corner of E. Riverside Drive and IH-35. The units will range from 675-2,250 SF and priced from the low $300,000s. Units in the two 6-story buildings will range in price from $700 to $1 million (most are 3-3's, averaging 1,500 SF in size). Constellation plans on breaking ground in mid-2007 on Phase I; the two 6-story buildings fronting Town Lake (38 units and 28 units, respectively). Phase II is expected to start construction by mid-2008. This consists of a 9-story, 95-unit building (including 4 studio units). And finally, Phase III, the 11-story, 83-unit tower, will begin construction in late 2008 or early 2009. A force in the Austin Texas Condominiums market
